Chief Executive Officer
Malcolm Stewart
Since graduating from University in 1986, Malcolm has pursued a career
in sales, marketing and business development. Working in both large
and small organisations,
he has combined a results-oriented focus with a self-motivated, entrepreneurial
and creative spirit and drive.
A Thirteen-year career with Panasonic UK spanned sales, marketing, departmental
management and business development responsibilities. Latterly, as Head of
Multimedia Strategy for Panasonic in the UK, principal activities involved
investigating and developing Service Provider business opportunities from within
the end-to-end value chain that comprises Content – Service Provision – Network
Distribution and Terminal Devices.
Key achievements within this role included various new sales opportunities
including TV and Plasma screen sales for BAA Airport installations, and two
Board level Collaboration Agreements with a major Telecoms operator, covering
mobile communications and consumer products security related initiatives.
In June 2000 Malcolm set up Visionradio limited, and since May 2001 has worked
independently on a number of business development and consultancy projects.
Foremost amongst these have been:
- A new business marketing study for NTT DoCoMo Europe
- An IP business development
role for Panasonic UK
- Taking an active lead in the DTI co-sponsored TAHI project focused on
next generation services to connected users in the home
- Establishing and delivering an innovative ICT project with EMDA
- Building a client base on Interactive Internet TV / multiplatform services
including the likes of EDF Energy and Test Valley Borough Council.
In parallel with the consultancy projects Malcolm has been driving forward
development of new multimedia content and services. In particular is the development
of an online community system providing reach to PCs and internet connected
TVs, plus direct creation of music videos and other content for internet TV
and radio, synonymous with the Visionradio name.

Visionradio Chief Operating Officer
Simon Hession
Simon's technical career in the field of cellular and wireless communications was based on an introduction to the industry during a two-year spell at Nokia. Here his principal activities grew to include testing various key base station components, most notably the TRX range of transceivers. Simon was also responsible for managing and co-ordinating the activities of a team of 6 test engineers.
Following this, Simon branched into the multimedia field. His experience across the different facets of CD and DVD duplication covered production from on-demand runs of a handful, up to batches of 1000's. This experience and first-hand knowledge of production systems has delivered direct benefit in some of Visionradio's own work, producing disks for Artists to a professional quality finish using on-demand techniques and avoiding the need for stock-holding.
Since June 2000, Simon has pooled his varying skills into supporting the computer and content infrastructure for Visionradio. He has taken sole responsibility for the IT systems, and has experience in hardware and software, including Wireless Network installation plus evaluation and set up of Video capture and editing suites.
His client facing work has included web design, database driven dynamic web
systems, graphics,
video editing and system specification. Also bench and field testing of 3G
mobile networks and wired and wireless

Visionradio Projects Director
Geoff Ward
Geoff Ward has had a varied career in Information Technology ranging through sales, marketing, resource management, programme management and consultancy.
After university, Geoff joined ICL working in the city, initially in a technical role. This progressed to several successful years selling mainframe computer systems to insurance companies. Geoff moved to Dataskill, a software and services company, where he was responsible for services and project sales in Europe.
Following the period with Dataskill, Geoff rejoined ICL, and moved into marketing becoming the Product Marketing Manager for the South of England. He was recruited to set up the marketing organisation of the newly formed Retail division. He undertook a number of programme management activities involving new product launches, new market developments as well as having responsibility to implement organisational change management initiatives.
Key achievements in this role included initiating the shift in the organisation from product oriented to one that was services led. This included the establishment of a new consultancy business and team. Geoff also undertook a key role in the business strategy team of the international business. He was a member of the UK senior management team for a number of years, with responsibility for sales, marketing, consultancy and project management until electing to leave ICL in 2001.
In 2001, Geoff joined HomeRider Systems as a consultant and programme manager. He developed a process for the fulfilment of a domestic telephone dialler product line for a major UK Utility, which included the formation and management of a 15 strong production line. Another major achievement was to help conceive and win a major project under the TAHI initiative which was sponsored by the UK Government. The Service Aggregation Programme set out to prove the technical and commercial viability of providing aggregated services over broadband to users in the home. Geoff was appointed the programme manager and set up a complex consortium agreement involving 17 organisations including corporates, HEIs and SMEs. Furthermore he established the working methods and practices to steer the programme to a successful conclusion, and regularly reported directly to the Department of Trade & Industry.
Geoff left HomeRider in 2004 following the break with the French parent company, to establish himself as an independent consultant and project manager. He has been associated with Visionradio from 2002.

Visionradio Sales and Marketing Manager
Sean Patterson
Sean has joined in 2006 to bring focus to the commercialisation across the range
of products and services developed over the years. In particular his focus will
be on web development including the easy2 and Access Anywhere products, as
well as our client list of traditional web customers.
Sean brings a wealth of knowledge in direct marketing and sales, having worked
in a number of different industries. His experience in the design and selling
of large exhibition stands including graphics design, and "at home" Business
to Consumer Sales of home equipment solutions and appliances offers a fresh
perspective to the Visionradio web and business development work and community
engagement models.
Sean has experience in database design and utilisation, and these abilities
all combine to extend the Marketing Solutions that are provided
by Visionradio Ltd..

Springvale Consultants
Mark Smith
Mark has extensive experience in providing market-led business development support
to high-growth innovative companies: developing strategy and identifying competitive
advantage to grow emerging businesses to achieve outstanding commercial results.
He is motivated at establishing new business solutions and partnerships, providing
an external perspective in aligning big ideas and strategic vision with market
exploitation, product development, sustainable sales revenue, and in providing
access to finance. Mark has an extensive network of contacts with macro and micro
businesses, professional service organisations, national and regional support
agencies, and the research and development capacity of UK Universities.
In his
first career in the service sector Mark established and directed strategy
for the global delivery of high-performance and geographically dispersed marketing
and sales teams for new products and services, obtaining high levels of co-operation
across multinational and cross-cultural businesses.

Willis Star Associates
Geoff Willis
Geoff has broad commercial and technical experience gained over 28 years with blue chip companies in defence, IT and telecoms. After graduating with a degree in electronics, he was responsible for field trials of mission critical computer systems for the British Aerospace Sea Harrier aircraft. During his 10 years at Ferranti, he modernised and expanded the company’s five data centres based in UK and US, to support major new defence projects.
In 1990 he joined “O2” (formerly BTCellnet) where his achievements included development of the ‘instant’ handset connection process for the consumer market launch and product development of the innovative ‘mobile extension’ corporate solutions and messaging services. For the BT Group, he instigated Board sponsored collaboration agreements with global mobile device manufacturers to develop innovative multimedia propositions.
In 2000, he was appointed Executive Board Director and IT General Manager for J-Phone Central in Japan. On returning to the UK in September 2001, he set-up Willis Starr Associates consulting practice and won its first assignment with 186k Ltd, a start-upbroadband operator backed by the Lattice Group.

Insite Communications
Tony Malone
Tony has over 20 years in the field of IT product and software development and is currently Director of Insite Communications Ltd and Insite By Design Ltd. He has corporate, start-up and consultancy background with companies across a range of industries.
His positive "can-do" attitude and strong technical background enables him to embrace new technologies quickly and with his extensive commercial, financial and programme management experience he continues to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Notable achievements include:
Head of software and business development for Panasonic UK Ltd (1998-2003), part of the $68B Matsushita group. Introduced structured development and test procedures. Developed the marketing, product strategy and business plans, negotiated key partnerships, resolved disputes and established new market positioning, generating sales of £2M for 2002/03.
Keynote speaker at International conference on Security Solutions for Matsushita in Japan and Germany. Subsequently negotiated 50% funding for software development for the UK and sold product under license to all Panasonic countries.
Founded and managed three start-up companies, two wholly owned and one as a non-executive director in such diverse fields as Publishing, Building Management and IT Services.
Through Insite developed strategic alliance with numerous professional services companies, both onshore and offshore.
Insite developed e-Commerce solution for quality maternity wear company (
www.IsabellaOliver.com) including business analysis, web design, development and hosting. Company subsequently voted in top 100 fastest growing companies in London 2003.
Consulted for London Electricity, working on IT and strategic projects related to deregulation of the electricity industry. Developed the Sub-station monitoring and control system employed on 12,000 substations throughout London.
