About Visionradio

Visionradio is a design house combined with a business solution development company. We specialise in creation and delivery of both current and next generation Internet Protocol (IP) visual and audio services.

Our activities embrace not only traditional IP deployment, most widely seen through PC websites, but we are amongst the World leaders in internet service delivery over TV and radio. To-date we claim to have the World’s first radio cartoon, and have created a combined Internet TV & PC portal entitled “easy2” (www.easy2.net).
Furthermore we have been involved in wireless projects looking at the promise behind 3rd generation and WiFi mobile IP access.

We work with industry partners and clients such as Panasonic, ntl, Netgem, Microsoft, and NTT DoCoMo. Our future platform development also involves public sector partnerships including DTI, EMDA and the EU ERDF. Our approach to projects is to deliver results based on the intelligent application of business knowledge using well-structured processes.

The Inspiration for the Company:

The inspiration for the company was born from a number of paradigm changes in the world of multimedia communication and entertainment.  Amongst these were the shifts around the turn of the millennium of increasing the bandwidth and capabilities of fixed and wireless technologies.  The move towards broadband and IP communication and advances in mobile technology towards 2.5G and 3G heralded new opportunities for multimedia content and services.  Furthermore, the dawn of the digital radio (DAB) era, where visual, screen based information was part of the traditionally audio-only specification for the first time was a driving influence.

Company Foundation:

Visionradio was originally established in 2000 with the founding members of the company working on a self-funded basis.  Projects were selected case by case, fitting around the core direction of the business in developing new multimedia content and services.  Work mainly focused around the emerging DAB Digital Radio market and the development of concept Digital Radio products and "Visionradio" audio plus picture program ideas.

Active trading commenced during 2001, and the business development consultancy activity was supported by sales and marketing agreements on games software and digital consumer products

Throughout 2001 opportunities extended to include hybrid products and business models looking to harness the benefits of DAB combined with cellular GSM/GPRS technology.  Still under development, these hybrid services remain set to deliver new style services to mobile users.

Drawing on the cellular experience and contacts from the hybrid project, Visionradio's activities in cellular and other wireless technologies have expanded over the subsequent 2 year period.  Visionradio's core team are now involved in working with Clients and Partners encompassing 3G, Wi-Fi hotspot, as well as other IP communication activities.

Current and past activities include amongst others: BT, Digital One, ntl, Panasonic, Microsoft, The Cloud, Real Networks and Vodafone.

Operations:

Since it's inception and through until the latter part of 2003, Visionradio has been operating on a project by project basis.
With the growth in the Client base and the strength of it's in-house developments, from late 2003 Visionradio is now running as a full time business.
